Lighter, faster, quicker: the ultimate YZ
For 2015 the latest generation YZ250F comes with a range of detail engine and stylistic changes that make this innovative motocross bike our best ever MX2 weapon!
With its reverse cylinder head and snaking exhaust system, the rearward-slanting, 250cc, 4-valve engine sets the standard for the class. Revised FI and ignition settings give even more mid range power – and a lighter throttle action gives precise feel.
A compact and lightweight aluminium chassis and minimal bodywork deliver agile handling with razor-sharp steering – and new black rims and factory-style graphics give that attention-grabbing ‘pro-racer’ look!
To get ahead you need to look ahead
The characteristics any racer wants from a motorcycle are usually the same: faster, lighter and easier. With this Ultimate YZ range Yamaha are forward thinkers. We want to be at the front, just like you, just like them.Yamaha have watched and reacted wherever a knobbly tyre has met off-road terrain in anger and now we have refined our YZ technology to the point where you simply cannot get a better, more usable, more competitive package.Competition lines the soul at Yamaha and the YZ motocrossers are our offering designed to create a thrill and a buzz and then to savour it in the best way possible. Faster, lighter, easier.

Fuel injected engine
The YZ250F benefits from an advanced fuel injection system that delivers excellent power characteristics, instant response and plenty of grunt. It adopts the same functional and integrated design concept as the YZ450F. For stronger mid range power, the 2015 engine features revised settings for the FI and ignition.

Rear-slanted, forward thinking
The forward-positioned straight intake ensures excellent efficiency while the rearward slant of the engine is set at the optimum angle with regard to the frame, engine size and mass balance. The full extent of the ECU can be exploited through the optional MX Power Tuner to customise set-up for personal preference and terrain conditions.

Centralisation and weight saving
The snaking exhaust design allows the use of a stubby silencer which, in turn, permits the fitment of a short subframe – just one of several factors contributing towards the significant mass centralisation of the motorcycle. The central fuel tank keeps the bodywork slim and the easily accessible air filter features quick-release fasterners.

Compact lightweight chassis
The YZ250F is renowned for its potential in turns and benefits from a lightweight, hydro-formed, bilateral beam frame constructed from ten different types of forged, cast and extruded aluminium parts. Achieving precision and control, the chassis blends high levels of rigidity, balance and shock absorbing element for ‘ultimate’ feedback and fun.

Smooth and efficient shifting
The durable clutch and slick shifting transmission ensure that YZ250F riders experience a smoother, surer shifting sensation. This advanced system reduces drive-force losses during gear changes, allowing the rider to optimise the engine performance for reduced lap times.
This bike is built to race hard and its sharp, minimal bodywork gives you optimal freedom of movement during intense competition. The long seat and hidden filler cap allow rapid body weight transfer – and with its new factory style in-mould graphics and black rims, the 2015 YZ250F is ready for action!
