Honda CBR600RR

Styling

The CBR600RR’s stunning and very clean new styling is a blend of Honda’s current RC213V MotoGP race bike, with aerodynamic lessons taken directly from the 2011 RC212V. Fittingly, for a motorcycle that shares DNA with one of theworld’s ultimate race machines,aRepsolcolour will now be available on the CBR600RR.

Engine

The CBR600RR’s extremely compact 599cc, liquid cooled DOHC 16-valve inline four-cylinder power plant makes a great contribution to the bike’s superb handling.Featuring a compression ratio of 12.2:1,it produces 88kW @ 13,500rpm, with torque of 66Nm @ 11,250rpm. In this stage of the engine’s development improved power and torque were not the focus; instead, throttle response and feel across the entire rev-range were targeted

Handling is everything- Forks

The CBR600RR’s front suspension was targeted as the main area from which to find improved levels of handling. Honda’s development engineers noted in testing that there has been a slight tendency (a result of improvements in both bike and tyre performance, plus much more efficient brakes) for the front suspension on recent Supersports bikes to dive quickly when the brakes are applied, a phenomenon which has a de-stabilising effect on control.

Improved damping function was key for the new CBR600RR, so a fully adjustable Showa Big Piston inverted front fork, with an exceptionally rigid 41mm diameter inner tube, has been used. Compared with the previous fork, the larger diameter piston results in a 3.5 times larger pressure-bearing area. This ensures that precise damping force is generated without delay from the initial phase, resulting in greater smoothness, a more comfortable ride, and greater stability when braking hard. Transient damping force characteristics are also improved. Riding on ordinary roads is more comfortable than before and when the bike is taken to the limit on the racetrack, there’s an improved sense of connection with the tarmac when braking. Adjusting the rebound and compression settings has been made easier by consolidating the functions for both on the upper part of the front fork.

Handling is everything- Shock

The CBR600RR’s Unit Pro-Link rear suspension uses no shock top mount on the frame, and is a system unique to Honda. The shock mounts to the upper part of the swingarm and the lower link, effectively operating independently of swingarm movement. This stabilises behaviour under hard cornering and delivers superb traction and turning ability, plus improved shock absorption and much more consistent damping.
Continued development of the Unit Pro-Link system – refinement of the pressure-bearing surfaces in the piston and optimisation of valve rigidity – has resulted in much better low speed performance and greater feedback in the initial phase of operation, giving superb stability and controllability. The swingarm itself employs an “eye-shaped” cross-section and is manufactured using conventional cast aluminium for the pivot, pressed aluminium for the right-hand section and extruded aluminium tubing for the left-hand section. This has resulted in a lightweight component with an exquisite rigidity balance.

Honda CBR1000RR FIREBLADE R190 000**

Honda CBR1000RR FIREBLADE R190 000**

Honda CBR1000RR FIREBLADE

Pure race-bred styling

The new Fireblade’s styling accentuates the motorcycle’s performance-based, purposeful design. The sharper rear fender and a clear-lens taillight coupled with the indicators and license plate holder have been integrated into a compact and convenient assembly, which is easily detached from the rear fender unit for closed track riding. Next the Fireblade’s low-slung exhaust features a new, redesigned muffler with a top-quality aluminium finish. Designed for excellent handling, the front cowl is short and compact, incorporating acutely styled dual ram-air intakes and striking line-beam headlights, while stunning 12-spoke cast aluminium wheels provide more consistent rigidity to work with the new forks to deliver improved handling. And for peace of mind, an enhanced instrument panel with lap timer, gear position indicator, and tachometer with 4 modes of display provide all the info you want, when you want it.

Honda CBR1000RR FIREBLADE

Serious superbike performance

The Fireblade’s sophisticated 4-piece aluminium frame is designed to perfect the delicate balance between strength, rigidity and lightness required for top superbike performance. It allows for agile, confident handling, while facilitating the positioning of all other components for mass centralisation. Balance aside, the bike boasts an incredibly powerful 4-cylinder, fuel injected, in-line 4-stroke, liquid cooled engine and nearly a 1000cc of unbridled power.

The Honda Fireblade is fitted with a PGM-DSFI system that features two separate sets of injectors. These injectors are programmed to operate at low and high engine speeds to ensure optimal fuelling combustion efficiency and performance at all engine speeds and throttle openings. That’s power at the twist of the wrist.

Big Piston Front Fork

The all-new Fireblade also features inverted 43mm telescopic forks with Showa’s Big Piston technology. With a unique design to reduce internal pressures, the Big Piston Front Fork offers improved damping, increased front tyre grip and better stability under braking.

Balance free rear cushion

Introduced for the first time on a production motorcycle, this advanced new rear shock uses a double-tube design to ensure smoother and more accurate response, superior damping and improved traction.

Honda CBR 1000 RR SP – Contact For Price

Front and rear Öhlins suspension

The chassis wears circuit-ready front and rear Öhlins suspension plus Brembo four piston block calipers, with frame revisions and new top and bottom yokes to suit. Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres are the finishing touch. Combined with the chassis changes, ‘Total Control’ is elevated to a whole new level and the CBR1000RR SP has the potential to turn in significantly lower lap times than the standard machine.

Sport track oriented model

As a track-focused machine there’s no provision for a pillion, which means that the sleek single seat unit saves weight. Also, the second-generation Honda Electronic Steering Damper (HESD) monitors speed and tailors the damping force accordingly. It enhances stability at high speed by minimising sudden steering angle changes, while leaving the steering untouched and light at low speed.

Brembo four piston block calipers

These calipers were chosen because of their compatibility and performance potential with the Öhlins fork. Brembo manufactured special pistons for use in the new machine, with pad material designed to give a consistent and linear feel when braking hard from high speed.
